As promised in my last post...I'm tackling the lighter side this time. Last year, we took a family vacation to Washington D.C. for spring break. I obsessed and stressed about how to blog about it and ended up...yep. Posting nothing. Not wanting to repeat that mistake this time, I decided this will be a photo story. Lots of pictures...few words. Should be refreshing as it's usually the other way around.
Traveling
First stop: Druber's Donuts--Most amazing donut shop ever. Opens at 11pm. Perfect prelude to 30 + hour train trip that begins at 2:45am.
Breakfast on the train. Because a donut can only hold you over for so long...
|
Location: Somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

I guess if we have to spend 30 hours together, we should try to have fun.

Nice sunset, Arizona! Color me impressed.
Arriving
Bedraggled and weary travelers...anxious for our final destination
Beaching
Mid-sixties and cloudy? That's a heat wave as far as we're concerned. Let's hit the waves!
|
Dude! Is that a dolphin?
|
Recouperating
Plenty of room in Dad's apartment for all of us. Not crowded at all!
Exploring
"They'll be comin' down the mountain when they come..."
Keeping me from gaining the "spring break fifteen"...
Sightseeing
"Standing on the edge of the Hollywood sign" Okay. Fine. Just content to stand where we can see the Hollywood sign.
|
Cool! Wonder when Uncle Nathan will have one of these?
|
Jay Leno sighting = a big "thumbs up" for the Hollywood outing.

Time for bodysurfing!
Way to ride those waves, Bro!

Shoot! Wish I would've caught THAT one...

Playing
A beach trip isn't complete without a little Frisbee...
|
|
|
No thanks. You guys go ahead and play without me. I'm just gonna close my eyes for a few minutes...
|
The most beautiful feet...
Looks like "Hector" and "Princess" had as fantastic of a day at the beach as we did!
Leaving :o(

See you soon, Dad! Love you!

Returning
Seriously? 27 degrees here? Can we just go back to California?
